Collaboration homework

Steven Spielberg and John Williams

ET
These two creative giants have teamed up over six decades on 29 feature films, making films with highly notable stories and memorable musical scores, including most recently the Fabelmans. They also collaborated on Jaws, E.T., Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Ark and many more. They have created so many memorable moments in classic films with their collaboration between the music industry and the film industry. The music helps dramatise and reinforce the incredible stories. In this case of collaboration, we see two individuals working together individually but they would have huge teams of musicians and filmmakers behind them to bring everything together.

Disney and Rare collaboration - Trailor Sea of thieves: A pirates life

Is a collaboration between the Disney film company and Rare video game producers. The Sea of Thieves game joined forces with the Pirates of the Caribbean (PoC) brand and characters. The game gave players a themed PoC experience with 5 tales playing through locations originating from the Sea of Thieves game and the Pirates of the Caribbean films. It was designed to be played on Microsoft OS10 and Xbox One. The game came with its own story celebrating the two separate identities of the two products. The game was free to all existing Sea of Thieves players meaning that any Pirates of the Caribbean fan that wanted to play the game could do so with ease. The collaboration was apparently born of a mutual appreciation between Disney and Rare's Sea of Thieves.

Kanye West and Nike (Yeezys)

Singer-songwriter Kanye West and Nike collaborated on a project to create a limited-edition trainer. The outcome was the Nike Air Yeezy. West had been invited to help design the shoe to reflect his personal fashion style. The first edition was released in 2009 and was priced at $225, however, there were only 3000 pairs produced, so given the publicity around the launch and the profile of West, prices continued to increase second-hand, retailing at over $4000 per pair, however, now they have increased to far more than this. A pair worn by West himself at the Grammy Awards subsequently sold for $1.8 million at auction. There was a second edition release of the Yeezy which purportedly sold out in seconds. The collaboration between Nike and West lead to both benefiting by the attachment to each other's brands, creating publicity and status for both and creating powerful marketing for the pairing. The Nike Air Yeezy is still selling now for vast sums second-hand. Here is an example below of a reseller site selling his shoe with a suggested purchase price of £13,492.
